Pheasants Forever is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education and land management policies and programs.

Pheasant Country Chapter 872 is an organization of Pheasant enthusiasts, landowners and business people from the United States and Canada who want to increase the Mitchell area pheasant population.

It is our goal to introduce and maintain programs that improve pheasant habitat. It is proven that habitat development will increase pheasant populations.

Our programs include incentives for landowners to establish and set aside food plots, establish groves of trees to reduce winter losses, & sponsor programs for youth hunters.

BBQ Teams Get Ready!

Pheasant Country will be taking the top spot once again this year! Hope you all can join us for Memorial Weekend in Mitchell.

Were starting to put together this years event on Saturday, May 24th. BBQ Teams start getting your recipes out and plan to help us find a cure to Cystic Fibrosis. Last year we had 12 Teams, how many can we get this year? Who's gunna knock Phesant Country off the top spot of peoples choice & take away the traveling trophy with bragging rights for the best BBQ in Mitchell!! More to come in the coming weeks as well as sign up sheets for Teams. As with any event of this kind, volunteers are always needed.

The 29th Annual Seed Giveaway on Saturday, April 5th was a real success with 135 landowners picking up seed through our PF Pheasant Country Chapter.

29th Annual Landowner Banquet Held

The Mitchell Pheasants Forever Pheasant Country Chapter held its 29th Annual Landowner Appreciation/ Education Banquet this past Sunday, February 9th. There were 160 people who attended including many area landowners who are interested in learning about new programs and research being done to increase pheasant population in South Dakota.
