Once again Pheasant Country LTD-Mitchell volunteers are getting ready for
our Annual Pheasant Banquet to kick-off the 2007 pheasant hunting season. Pheasant hunters flock to this area every year because of our outstanding hunting reputation and the great hospitality extended to them. According to the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks website, over 29% of non-resident hunters and 65% of the resident hunters reported participating in the regular opening weekend in South Dakota with over 290,000 birds bagged. You can see it is a very exciting evening with lots of enthusiasm for the start of the pheasant season.
We again expect over 650 people at this night’s event featuring an auction of original wildlife art by Mark Anderson, John Green and James Green, among other great auction items. Attendees also enjoy the many games, raffles and a roast pheasant dinner served by a local caterer.
The Pheasant Country Banquet, which raises money for habitat creation and restoration in the Mitchell area, will be held on Friday, October 19, 2007 at the "World's Only Corn Palace". This is the Friday night prior to Opening Day of the season.
Doors for the banquet open at 5:00 pm sharp. Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm. as there are no reserved seats. You will also want to take a look at all of the original wildlife artwork, the guns, the dogs, and all of the auction items. There will be several fun games you will be able to play, and many raffles you can enter for chances to win great prizes.
Tickets for this year's banquet are $45.00 each, and include your annual membership in Pheasant Country Ltd. Landowners, lodge owners and guide services are encouraged to bring their hunters to the banquet for a great meal and a great time. |
