Pheasant Country 2006 Youth Hunt

The Pheasant Country Annual Youth Hunt was held on Saturday, October 7th at The Rooster Roost Ranch south of Mitchell.

There were 12 boys present and many volunteer guides as well hosting the kids to a wonderful day of hunting. For many it was their very first pheasant hunt. In order to quality for the hunt, the young people must score 100% on their Hunter Safety Course final test. Many of the first time pheasant hunters were sons of Pheasant Country members. It was a great day with 11 birds shot.

Pheasant Country member and previous owner of Pheasant Express, Mike Thompson, gave the boys a demonstration on how to properly clean pheasants. Rooster Roost also hosted a lunch and trap shooting prior to the hunt.
